Billion
Dollar Ink Industry?
You bet it is. With
over 40 billion in inkjet revenues for 2005, the inkjet industry doesn’t simply
expand; it explodes into higher and higher numbers each year. There is a constant surge of new printer
technology on the market yearly. In
addition, the digital photography and internet industry continues to push those
numbers even higher. The motivators for
this increase are the low priced printers, all-in-one units, desktop computers
and laptops. This helps to create a
harvest of new home businesses and home offices.
If
the printer manufacturers gave each new printer customer an average dollar
figure of their long term printing costs, we would be back to using a simple
pen and pencil. In many cases, if a
business or individual purchase just one black and color cartridge each
month, it can run over a $1,000.00usd by the end of the year. This is disturbing considering the average
printer cost is only between $50.00 and $100.00. Essentially, the manufactures created the
problem by offering us affordable inkjet printers and then gouging us with
pricey inkjet cartridge. The printer
manufacture’s profits are geared toward supplying the over-priced inkjet
cartridges to consumers.
What Are
Your Chances at a Successful Refilling Business?
Your chances at developing your own profitable inkjet
refilling business are better than ever.
Statistics show that approximately 70% of people throw away their empty
inkjet cartridges. That number
represents a large group of individuals that have not been tapped.

Today’s
Inkjet Market
Fortunately, you won’t have to worry about the market
declining any time soon .The only question is what is the projected forecast
over the next five years? We are looking
at a 30-40% growth per annum over the next five years.
A Wall Street Journal article
on June 14, 2005 stated that: Computer users world-wide spend $22 billion
dollars every year on inkjet cartridges and that approximately 1.2 billion ink
cartridges are sold annually world-wide.
According
to the 2005 U.S. Inkjet Cartridge User Survey conducted by Lyra Research, Inc.
and Recharger Magazine (August 18, 2005):
In the United States alone the value of cartridges
purchased in 2004 amounted to more than $10.2 billion dollars. Considering that
the population of North America is about 328 million people, there were almost
1.3 cartridges sold for every man, woman, and child in North
America.
Not surprising since home ownership of PC’s has passed the 70% mark,
and most analysts agree that more than one printer is installed for each
PC. In addition, 265 billion digital
photographs were taken in the US
in 2004 and 3 trillion spent on digital photography in the US.

TRENDS
Many
different trends are driving the demand for inkjet cartridges. The top 7
significant trends include: Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) market, Consumer
Inkjet (Home computer printers), Color in the Corporation, Telecommuters,
Digital Cameras, Camera Phones, and Scanner/Copier/Printer/Fax all–in-one
machines.
Universal Type Inks Inkjet History
A few years ago, one would see refill kits designed
specifically for HP, Brother, Canon, and Epson cartridges. Some of these kits worked extremely well and
were affordable. However, as inkjet
printer prices began to drop and computers became more affordable, consumers
were purchasing additional printers (for home and business). The market changed from having a single
family home computer and printer to an increase in home businesses, laptops for
the kids or just updating the printer to an all-in-one unit. This market change gave birth to the two-
printer family (It is currently a 2-3 printer family). However, if you had purchased a refill kit
for your Epson printer but also used it on an HP printer, it wouldn’t perform
as well or in many cases, it wouldn’t perform at all. This increased the need for universal-type
inks which can accommodate a larger range of inkjet printers.

Who
are the target customers?
Most of us know people, businesses or organizations that
do not participate in refilling.
College students that purchased the
Business-In-A-Box have told us that they refilled cartridges for fellow students
and teachers. It’s a nice steady income
that allows the student to make more than his or her regular part-time or
full-time positions. You might be
surprised just how much business they get by putting a small ad on the
university bulletin board. They can
refill on site or take the cartridges back to their dorms and refill.
We have housewives and stay-at-home moms that work
full or part-time by refilling cartridges for organizations, church, local
businesses, schools, daycare facilities, family and friends. The comment we hear the most from this group
is, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
Retired persons or seniors that are on a fixed or
limited income purchase the kit and then end up refilling their cartridges, the
kids, grandkids, organizations, church, local businesses, schools, daycare
facilities, family and friends. We are
proud to say we do a high margin of sales from this group and are pleased with
the exceptional comments on our staff and product.
We have large and small businesses that purchase
kits. They tell us that they no longer mail off their inkjet cartridges to be
refilled (Sometimes the prices they were paying were almost as much as a new
cartridge.) Now, these same businesses
refill their own cartridges and are genuinely astonished at how little it costs
them. With unlimited free ink, it is a
substantial savings.

Our most popular group is those that simply want to supplement
their income or start a new career.
We have had individuals contact us to tell us that the Business-In-A-Box
Kit was a lifesaver to them and allowed them to make much needed extra
cash. It is not uncommon for us to get
calls telling us that they make more money at this than their regular full-time
jobs. In many cases, it ends up being
their full-time position. This positive feedback from our customers also
provides a considerable amount of referrals from people wanting to purchase our
kit.
Is It Legal to Refill an Inkjet Cartridge? My Printer
Manufacturer Indicated That Refilling Will Void The Warranty.
This is one of the most popular questions we hear.
Refilling your inkjet cartridge or using compatible inkjet cartridges will not
void your printer warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act assures
that you can purchase refill cartridges, refurbished cartridges or inkjet
refill kits without your warranty being voided by the manufacturer. See the
Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act,

15 Section 2302

What Really Makes Business-In-A-Box Different?
Most consumers want a kit that is affordable, easy and not
messy. Our Business-In-A-Box Kit is not
only affordable, but it is the last refill kit you will ever have to
purchase. After your initial purchase of
the kit, your replacement ink (dye, pigmented or photo) is replaced free of
charge for your lifetime.
Furthermore, we have learned in our early research that people enjoyed
using refill stations to refill their inkjet cartridges. The reusable plastic refill stations in our
Business-In-A-Box Kit take the aggravation out of wondering where to drill or
fill. These handy refill stations also
keep the refilling process from becoming messy.
There
are only a few kits on the market today that carry dye-based and photo inks
together. It would be difficult to find
a refill kit that carried dye-based, pigmented and photo inks. We could find no
kit on the market that carried these three types of inks in a single kit. In
fact, we only located one other refill kit that had plastic refill stations and
that kit carried only three stations that were for the older HP and Lexmark
cartridges.
There are several disturbing aspects to many of the
popular kits on the market today. If you look closely, you can easily find
inaccurate instructions, no mention of resetting instructions, misuse of the
inks (dye-based should go into dye-based, pigment into pigment), in some cases
under-sized 20ml ml bottles that will not even fill some of the older black cartridges
and either neglectfully or ignorantly not mentioning bar codes or sensors that
are strategically placed on cartridges to interfere with refilling. These are all situations that we detail in
our instruction manual. You would be
hard-pressed to find a question that we do not explore in this manual. Furthermore, we update this manual online
routinely as new printers are introduced on the market.
Have
you entered an Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club
recently? Each of these stores hosts a small selection of refill kits. Only one or two of these kits are considered
to have “universal-type” inks. Yet, none
of the kits at any of these stores had refill stations. None of the kits offered both dye and
pigmented based inks. None of the kits had a print head cleaner solvent in
them. Only one kit offered photo inks (but no refill stations, cleaner or
pigmented inks and no free ink).
We decided to go online and search for some of the more
popular inkjet refill kits. As many kits
as there are online to choose from, we ran into the same problems that we did
going store to store. There were no kits
available anywhere that offered up the range of inks, cleaner, refill stations
and other options that our Business-In-A-Box Kit includes. Lastly, no one, not one company was offering
unlimited free ink.
